Pumpkin enthusiasts in Kasterlee, Belgium, celebrated the season by hollowing out enormous pumpkins and boarding them to race around a pond. The annual tradition began in 2008, when local farmers tried to find ways to use their giant gourds weighing over 360 kilograms besides turning them into soup.
