GloRilla Endorses Kamala Harris, Gives 4 Reasons Why Fans Should Too

The Memphis-born rapper previously visited the White House in March, snapping a selfie with the Vice President

As early voters head to polling locations across the country, GloRilla endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris for the presidential ticket. In a 30-second Instagram video posted Monday, The “TGIF” rapper listed four reasons to support the presidential nominee: women’s abortion rights, LGBTQ+ protections, funding for public eduction, and a $15 minimum wage.

Throughout the campaign, Harris has made abortion access a focal point. During a Houston rally Oct. 25, actress and singer Kelly Rowland and global superstar Beyoncé made an appearance and collectively emphasized the importance of bodily autonomy. (The state enforced restrictive abortion laws, following the Supreme Court overturning of Roe v. Wade in 2022.)

Earlier this month, GloRilla performed at the BET Hip-Hop Music Awards and on Oct. 11 released her second album this year Glorious, featuring Megan Thee Stallion, Muni Long, Sexyy Red, and Latto. Megan has previously showed her support for the Democratic presidential nominee with an Atlanta rally performance in late July.

GloRilla’s move to endorse Harris, to the tune of her song “I Luv Her” featuring T-Pain, continues the Memphis-born rappers overlap with national politics. In March, ahead of President Joe Biden’s decision to drop out of the presidential race, GloRilla was invited to Washington, D.C., as Billboard reported, and snapped selfies with Biden and Harris during a visit to the White House.

“It was so cool,” the Memphis-born artist told CNN. “I was geeked. Everybody don’t get to meet the president and the vice president and so just being able to be in the White House, I never in a million years thought I’d be in the White House.”
