Hulu, Fox Entertainment Ink 4-Year Streaming Deal Renewal

Hulu will continue to be the U.S. streaming home for Fox’s “The Simpsons,” “Family Guy,” “The Masked Singer” and other shows for at least the next four years.

Fox Corp.’s Fox Entertainment and Disney‘s Hulu announced a multiyear renewal of their content partnership, encompassing in-season streaming rights for Fox’s programming slate. The agreement also includes the extension of the marketing alliance the two companies established in January 2023, under which Fox and Hulu branding jointly share presence across all Fox-owned and external consumer touchpoints “to align with live and on-demand viewing messaging of Fox content.”

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The deal renewal runs for a four-year term, sources said.

Fox Corp. does not operate its own subscription streaming service and has leaned on its Hulu partnership to monetize its content in the subscription VOD space. Separately, Fox operates Tubi, a free, ad-supported streamer.

Under the terms of the agreement with Disney, Fox primetime entertainment programming — including “The Masked Singer,” “The Floor,” Gordon Ramsay’s “Next Level Chef,” “Bob’s Burgers,” “The Simpsons,” “Family Guy,” “Animal Control” and the new Fox fall dramas, “Rescue: HI-Surf” and “Murder in a Small Town” — will continue to stream on Hulu the next day following linear telecast.

“Our friends at Hulu and Disney Entertainment are exceptional partners, together driving ongoing mutual growth and strong results,” Fox Entertainment CEO Rob Wade said in announcing the renewal. “Through our new agreement, we look forward to expanding on this impressive track record and collaboratively shaping the future of television in today’s shifting media landscape.”

Hulu general manager Lauren Tempest said, “The long-standing, valued partnership we have with Fox has cemented Hulu as the next-day streaming home for current Fox hits and out of season episodes of key Fox titles, and we’re excited to continue offering these scripted, unscripted and animated series to our subscribers. Our collective marketing efforts, which will continue with this new deal, have generated impressive results and helped viewers successfully find the shows they want to watch, when they want to watch them.”

Fox series produced by Disney Television Studios include animated hits “The Simpsons,” “Family Guy,” “Bob’s Burgers” and “The Great North.” Fox’s in-house unscripted studio, Fox Alternative Entertainment, produces “The Masked Singer,” “Crime Scene Kitchen,” “Name That Tune,” and in association with Fox and Gordon Ramsay’s Studio Ramsay Global “Next Level Chef,” “Kitchen Nightmares” and “Gordon Ramsay’s Food Stars.”

In addition, Fox Entertainment Studios produces single-camera comedy “Animal Control.” The studio also is behind upcoming midseason military comedy “Going Dutch” with Denis Leary. Animated comedies “Krapopolis” from Dan Harmon, “Grimsburg,” starring and executive produced by Jon Hamm, and “Universal Basic Guys” from the Malamut Brothers are produced by Fox’s animation studio, Bento Box Entertainment.
