Video. Catholic faithful mark Palm Sunday in Peru and Guatemala

Peru’s Catholics celebrated Palm Sunday with a procession that commemorates the Christian belief of the triumphal entry of Jesus into Jerusalem.

Catholic faithful walked alongside the images with songs, incense and the traditional palms that are blessed on Palm Sunday.

In the capital Lima, Catholic faithful took part in a procession that included images of Our Lady of Sorrows, Jesus, the Virgin of the Anguish, Lord of the Sanctuary of Santa Catalina, among others.

Some of the images were brought from the outskirts of Lima to participate in the procession that takes place every year outside the Cathedral of Lima.
