NCM forecast: Thunderstorms to hit most Saudi regions until Monday ​​​​​​​

RIYADH — The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) stated that most regions of Saudi Arabia will continue to be affected by moderate to heavy thunderstorms starting Friday and continue until Monday.

There is a possibility for light to moderate rain accompanied by dust storm, along with flash floods and hail in the governorates of Makkah region. These governorates include the Makkah city, Al-Jumum, Kamil, Taif, Maysan, Adham, Al-Ardiyat, Al-Mawiyah, Al-Khormah, Raniyah, and Turbah.

Most governorates in the Madinah region including Al-Ula, Al-Ays, Badr, Madinah, Khaybar, Al-Hanakiyah, Wadi Al-Fara, and Al-Mahd are expected to receive light to moderate rain accompanied by downward winds that stir up dust, flash floods, hail, and high waves on the coast.

Tayma in the Tabuk region will be affected by light to moderate rain accompanied by downward winds that stir up dust, flash floods, hail, and high waves on the coast.

The regions of Riyadh, Qassim, Hail, Najran, the Eastern Province, the Northern Borders, Al-Jouf, Al-Baha, and Jazan are expected to be experiencing light to moderate rain accompanied by dust storms.

The center called on the public to follow weather forecasts from its official communication channels to stay abreast of developments and information on the expected situation and the affected governorates. It urged everyone to follow the instructions of the relevant authorities.
