Once criticised for its uniformity and lack of complexity, Beaujolais Nouveau has evolved in recent decades. Winemakers now focus on producing wines that better reflect the terroir and style of each estate. Jean-Marc Lafont, President of the Beaujolais Interprofession, notes that today, every Beaujolais Nouveau is a unique expression of its maker.

The unveiling of Beaujolais Nouveau is one of the biggest events in the world of wine, half of which is exported, notably to Japan, the United States and the United Kingdom
